Overview
VisionFund International is seeking a Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning to lead its global impact measurement and research function. This home-based position involves approximately twenty percent travel and requires an experienced professional to strengthen evidence-based decision-making, improve programme measurement, and support initiatives that help vulnerable families build sustainable livelihoods.
Who can apply
Applicants must hold a graduate-level degree in Economics, Development Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Evaluation, or another relevant quantitative discipline, though demonstrably equivalent applied expertise may be considered. Candidates need at least ten years of relevant professional experience, which must include a minimum of five years in a senior leadership position overseeing monitoring and evaluation, research, or impact functions within a multinational NGO, development finance institution, inclusive finance organisation, or similarly complex global organisation.
Candidates are also required to demonstrate experience designing and implementing measurement frameworks across multiple countries, at least five years of experience developing monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning components for externally funded proposals, and experience managing academic partnerships, research consultants, and external evaluations. Additional requirements include a track record of strengthening the technical capacity of geographically dispersed teams, experience leading organisational change and improving research or evidence functions, contributions to the development sector through publications, presentations, technical working groups, or peer review, and strong team leadership, performance management, and staff development skills. Fluency in English is required, while a working knowledge of French or Spanish is desirable.
