Overview

ClimateWorks Foundation is recruiting a Senior Associate Director for its Global Energy Transition Initiative (GETI). The full-time position is remote and senior level, reporting to the Global Head of GETI. Applications are expected to close on 15 August 2026.

GETI supports the shift of power systems toward clean and renewable energy, with an initial focus on 15 emerging economies across Africa, Asia and Latin America that have strong potential for solar, wind and energy storage and are expected to see fast growth in electricity demand. A major component is support for renewable energy and storage industry associations, helping them develop unified missions, take part in policy and regulatory discussions, improve public communication, coordinate knowledge, promote standards and build sustainable organizational and financial models.

ClimateWorks is a global organization that accelerates climate solutions through philanthropy and collaboration. Since 2008 it has awarded more than $1.3 billion in grants to over 600 organizations.

What the role involves

The Senior Associate Director coordinates the solar and renewable energy association initiative across regions, working closely with GETI program leads in Africa, Asia, Latin America and selected European markets. This includes leading complex multi-stakeholder workstreams, keeping the Renewable Energy and Storage Industry Association Strategy up to date, and making sure activities stay aligned with the overall strategy.

The role helps decide which regional and global meetings and industry convenings to prioritize, and may involve leading or monitoring renewable energy and storage events at global, regional and national levels. It also supports funder engagement by organizing briefings, preparing agendas, briefing materials and key messages, collecting grantee updates and writing reports for funders. In communications, the post contributes to strategic messaging with communications specialists and coalition partners and prepares policymaker-friendly briefings.

Who can apply

The role suits professionals with substantial leadership experience in clean energy, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, coalition building, philanthropy or advocacy. Strong writing, synthesis, communication and presentation skills are valuable.
