agap2 - HIQ Consulting offers a professional position for an Automation Engineer specializing in GMP Pharma and Biotech, located in Basel, Switzerland. The role involves working as a consultant to support clients on-site with the design, implementation, qualification, and improvement of automation systems within GMP-regulated environments. Visa sponsorship may be offered for suitable candidates.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Industrial IT, or a related field, alongside a minimum of 2 years of experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life science environment. Candidates are required to have professional experience with at least one of the following: PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, MES, industrial automation, or OT networks.

Additional knowledge of automation systems and industrial communication technologies is necessary, while experience with platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Emerson DeltaV, or Syncade is considered an advantage. Candidates must also demonstrate an understanding of GMP, GAMP 5, data integrity, and qualification or validation principles, alongside strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. The ability to work independently in a consulting and project-based environment is required. Good communication skills in English are mandatory, and proficiency in German serves as a strong advantage. Only applications from Swiss and EU citizens will be considered.
