Overview

GetYourGuide, a marketplace that connects travellers with activities and experiences around the world, is looking for a Working Student in Security Engineering in Zurich. The security team works across the whole company, from the code engineers ship to the systems everyone uses daily, and aims to help teams build things that are safe by default, protecting the trust travellers place in the company with their plans, payments and personal data.

What you will do

The working student assists in developing and implementing security measures and protocols, researches current AI and cybersecurity trends and threats, takes part in analysing and evaluating systems and applications for vulnerabilities, and helps manage security tools and software. Other duties include organising and maintaining security documentation and reports and working with other departments to raise security awareness.

Who can apply

Candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in computer science, information security or a related field, based locally and able to visit the office regularly.

Requirements

The employer asks for excellent written and spoken English, a strong interest in cybersecurity and AI, a basic grasp of security principles, techniques and technologies, and strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Comfort working with AI coding assistants and large language models, and the ability to work both independently and in a team, are expected. Previous security experience is a plus but not required.

What you get

The working student joins an international team of cybersecurity experts, gains hands-on experience on real security projects and works flexible hours around the study schedule. Other benefits include access to modern security and AI tools, workshops, seminars and training sessions, and a mentor on the security team with regular one-to-one meetings.
