Working Student Data Engineer – Python, SQL & Cloud Platforms
Overview
AgentixLake GmbH is seeking a Working Student Data Engineer to join the team remotely. The position involves building pipelines and data models that connect operational systems with analytics and artificial intelligence applications. Working students will own defined components of data engineering projects, managing the process from source system understanding to tested transformations and run monitoring. Schedules and part-time responsibilities are planned around the candidate's university studies.
Who can apply
Candidates must currently be enrolled in a university degree program in computer science, data science, business informatics, or a related technical discipline. No prior experience is required, though applicants need strong SQL skills and practical Python experience demonstrated through pipelines or data models built for actual users or team workflows. Applicants must be able to own a well-scoped deliverable, investigate problems systematically, and communicate clearly in English.
Requirements
Applicants must have a sound understanding of data modelling, incremental loads, data quality, and the operational behaviour of scheduled pipelines. Experience with version control, testing, and practical exposure to a cloud platform, warehouse, or orchestration tool is required. While not mandatory, familiarity with dbt, Airflow, Dagster, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Apache Iceberg, or Terraform is considered valuable.
What you get
Students will work on data systems with clear users and delivery requirements while collaborating directly with experienced engineers and the founders. Participants receive substantive code review and part-time schedule arrangements designed to accommodate academic commitments.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the designated job portal, as submissions sent via email or LinkedIn are not considered. Candidates must submit a CV, current study details, location, and weekly availability. The application should also include a description of one pipeline or data model the applicant delivered, the decisions they owned, and how they tested or improved its reliability.
