Overview

UNDP is offering a full-time, three-month, home-based Respectful Workplace Intern position within its Bureau for Management Services. The internship supports UNDP's Speak Up Culture programme and its Respectful Workplace and Equal Opportunities activities, and suits people interested in communications, education, inclusion, digital accessibility and workplace engagement.

A major task is reviewing existing content to make sure it is accessible and user-friendly, including videos, guides, presentations and other resources linked to the Speak Up Culture programme, as well as materials on equal opportunities and disability inclusion. The intern learns about digital accessibility standards such as WCAG while helping improve how employees use UNDP resources. The intern also supports translation coordination and helps redesign translated materials with digital tools such as Canva and Synthesia. Other tasks include creating infographics and visual communication materials, drafting internal posts for Viva Engage and Microsoft Teams, and updating SharePoint pages.

Who can apply

Applicants must meet UNDP's internship education requirements. They may be enrolled in a graduate programme in communications, linguistics, media studies, education or a related field, or be final-year bachelor's students in a relevant subject. Recent graduates can apply if the internship begins within one year of graduation. Previous professional experience is not required.

Requirements

Applicants need strong communication skills, attention to detail, organizational ability and an interest in accessibility and inclusion. English is required, and Spanish is desirable. Experience with translation, project coordination or digital accessibility is desirable, as are basic design or media skills. Knowledge of tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, basic video editing software, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and other digital communication platforms can help.

The closing date is 19 September 2026 at 5:59 AM.
