UNDP Executive Analyst Job 2026: Management Opportunity in Colombo, Sri Lanka
Overview
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is recruiting an Executive Analyst for its Country Office in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The full-time post is at the NPSA-8 level under a National Personnel Service Agreement, for one year, and is open to Tier 1 and Tier 2 applicants. It sits in the UNDP Sri Lanka Front Office, supporting the day-to-day functioning and coordination led by the Resident Representative and Deputy Resident Representative, and reports directly to the Resident Representative. UNDP Sri Lanka works on economic, social and environmental challenges, including inclusive growth, climate resilience, governance reforms, innovation and partnerships.

Applicants need a master's degree or equivalent in International Relations, Business Administration or a related field. A first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may substitute. Master's degree holders need no professional experience, while bachelor's degree holders need at least two years of relevant, progressively responsible administrative or programme experience at national or international level.
Requirements
Fluent English is required, and applicants must also be fluent in Sinhala or Tamil. Desirable skills include research, analysis and report writing, producing briefs and communication materials, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, preparing presentations and drafting speaking points. Experience supporting administrative, programme or executive functions in UN, multilateral or bilateral organizations is desirable, as is familiarity with UNDP rules and ERP systems such as Quantum, Quantum+ or Unity. Core competencies include achieving results, innovation, continuous learning, agility, determination, partnership, diversity and inclusion, writing and editing, relationship and portfolio management, communications and systems thinking.
The analyst supports country-office planning, including annual business planning and management reporting, and coordinates staff and Integrated Management Meetings, retreats and forums. They monitor how senior management decisions are carried out, coordinate work across programme, operations, communications, partnership and project teams, and provide front-office support covering schedules, correspondence, protocol, official visits, travel and high-level meetings while keeping confidential records. They prepare briefing notes, talking points, speeches, presentations, dossiers and strategic analyses, quality-check key documents, analyse programme, financial, partnership, risk and operational information, and support high-level missions with stakeholder mapping, logistics and follow-up involving government, development partners and the UN Country Team.
