Software Engineer Intern - Fullstack (x/f/m) - Amsterdam
Overview
Doctolib, a healthcare technology company, is offering a six-month full-time Software Engineer Internship in fullstack development in Amsterdam, starting in March 2027. The intern joins the Engineering team and works in a feature team building products that improve daily life for care teams and patients across Europe, contributing to an AI-powered operating system for managing clinical and administrative activities.
The setup is hybrid, with up to two remote days per week. The technology stack includes Rails, TypeScript, Java, Python, Kotlin, Swift and React Native, all on a single cloud-native platform.
What you will do
The intern builds and owns features alongside experienced engineers, from design and development through testing and shipping, with a direct impact on real users. Other duties are collaborating with engineers, product managers and designers on technical challenges, writing clean and efficient code following good practice in design, testing and peer review, solving problems that improve patient care, exploring new tools including AI and distributed systems, and sharing knowledge with the team.
Who can apply
The company wants someone in the final year of a degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field who is curious, enjoys problem solving and collaboration, cares about the user experience, is comfortable coding in several languages with the help of AI agents and is fluent in English. Web development experience, side projects or open-source contributions and familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools are advantages. Candidates who do not match the profile exactly are still encouraged to apply.
What you get
Benefits include tech masterclasses, a free breakfast and lunch plan on site, up to two days of remote work per week, access to leading AI tools with training, a discounted Urban Sports Club membership, a bike lease scheme priced 35 percent below market, reimbursement of public transport for those living outside the Amsterdam highway ring, health insurance covered by the company for employees and their children under the basic plan, and a free mental health and coaching programme.
How to apply
The interview process has four steps: a one-hour coding game, a 30-minute recruiter interview, a one-hour feature building interview and a one-hour behavioural interview.
