Overview

Snowflake is recruiting Software Engineer interns in Berlin, with target start dates from February 2027 onward. The company describes itself as powering the agentic enterprise and looks for curious, low-ego people who treat AI as a collaborator and like to experiment with new capabilities.

Interns work with experts on real projects that feed into systems used by customers worldwide. They learn how to build reliable and secure enterprise cloud software and gain hands-on experience with database internals, large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, plus compiler design, query execution, streaming pipelines and advanced SQL features, using a stack built around C++ and Java.

Who can apply

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university programme during the internship, from the third year of a Bachelor's degree up to Master's or PhD level, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math or a related technical field. The internship lasts at least four months, with six months recommended and up to twelve months supported, and the start date is flexible.

Requirements

Candidates need foundational knowledge of algorithms, data structures and operating systems, programming experience in C++ or Java, and familiarity with systems programming concepts such as multi-threading and concurrency. They should work well in teams, solve problems creatively and speak and write fluent English. Coursework in database systems, distributed systems, cloud computing or compilers, interest in big data or geospatial features, and open-source or research contributions are a bonus.

What you get

The internship is paid and full time. Interns have a dedicated manager and personal mentor, flexible working hours, work-from-home options, catered lunches, team outings and employee resource groups, and there are clear routes to later full-time roles or further internships.
