Overview

Phlair, a climate technology company in Germany developing electrochemical Direct Air Capture technology that removes CO2 from the air for permanent storage or conversion into carbon-negative chemicals, is looking for a Growth and Operations Intern. The company reports offtake agreements with customers including Google, McKinsey, JPMorganChase, Shopify, Stripe and H&M, and describes itself as one of only seven direct air capture companies with real market validation. Its flagship effort is Project Dawn.

The intern supports the commercial and go-to-market work across customer research, pipeline development and strategic analysis, working with the commercial team, the CEO and the technical teams to turn technology progress into market traction. The role suits someone who wants to understand how deep-tech climate companies sell and operate in regulation-driven markets, and the company states it is not a shadowing internship.

What you will do

Tasks include supporting go-to-market and business development, structuring and maintaining CRM data, sales funnels and market intelligence, and building AI-enabled workflows and automations while helping build a new automation backbone. The intern also prepares materials for outreach, meetings, conferences and tenders, including briefings and slides, and takes on operational tasks wherever needed.

Who can apply

Candidates must be available from the first quarter of 2027 for at least six months and be enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's or master's programme in business, engineering, natural sciences, economics or a related field. Internship experience in startups, consulting, sales or venture is a plus. The company wants a strong interest in climate tech, carbon removal, energy or industrial decarbonisation, hands-on experience with AI tools and automation or curiosity about them, an analytical mindset, clear written and presentation skills, and a high ownership mentality in a fast-moving, unstructured setting.

What you get

The team works onsite five days a week at its offices in Ismaning, Germany, where the pilot plant is located. Benefits include a competitive salary, 20 vacation days, a public transport pass valid across Germany, relocation support for Munich, fitness and wellness benefits and team lunches prepared by an in-house chef.
