Business Development Intern (Mandarin Speaker)
Overview
Back Market, a global marketplace for refurbished devices and a certified B Corp, is offering a six-month Business Development internship in Paris for a Mandarin speaker, starting in January 2027. The role sits in the Global Sellers Team, which secures a stable supply of high-quality refurbished products for the company's 17 markets by onboarding and nurturing sellers. The intern focuses on qualifying Asian sellers and completing their onboarding, then helps grow their business by widening product selection and acting as a link between sellers and internal teams.
What you will do
Tasks include qualifying and onboarding new sellers to grow the selection and managing newly activated sellers through a mix of one-to-one account management and pooled coverage, focusing on sales value and quality performance. The intern partners with quality, logistics, finance and legal teams to support new sellers, keeps searching for top sellers on competitor platforms with supply origins such as Hong Kong, China and elsewhere in Asia, and supports seller communication by helping run recruitment or education webinars and developing a Chinese and English library of enablement material. The intern may also lead enablement projects that help sellers scale.
Requirements
Candidates need fully professional English and Mandarin, strong time management and ownership, attention to detail, active listening, analytical thinking and the ability to work independently with a positive learning attitude. Interest in small and medium-sized businesses and e-commerce is desired, experience with content creation and live broadcasting is a plus, as is experience with Salesforce, SQL or Tableau. An internship agreement from a French school is required.
What you get
The monthly salary is 1,200 to 1,400 euros. The working model is hybrid, with two remote days a week, one remote week per quarter and three flex days.
How to apply
The process has four steps: a skills interview with the manager, a home assignment, a cultural fit interview and a video call with the talent acquisition specialist.
