Overview

The AIxBio Fellowship in UK 2027 is a fully funded research program scheduled to run for 10 weeks from 18 January to 26 March, 2027. Offered by ERA in partnership with Cambridge Biosecurity, the program takes place in Cambridge, United Kingdom. The fellowship centers on addressing biosecurity risks arising from advancements in frontier AI capabilities. Approximately 15 fellows are selected across three tracks, which include the Research track, the Placement track, and the Founding track.

Who can apply

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The program welcomes early-career researchers, PhD students, and working professionals from disciplines such as biosecurity, virology, policy, law, engineering, computer science, and related fields, alongside candidates from a wide range of other backgrounds and career stages. Prior formal research experience is not required.

What you get

Participants receive a stipend of £10,000, along with visa and travel support. There is no application fee, and meals during work hours are provided.
