PhD Studentships in Business & Management

Overview

Lancaster University Management School provides three-year PhD studentships in Business and Management through the ESRC North West Social Sciences Doctoral Training Partnership as well as internal LUMS-funded awards. These fully funded opportunities are open to UK, EU, and Overseas students who wish to develop their research expertise within an international community. Programmes focus on areas including Management Science, Marketing, and specific management pathways covering entrepreneurship, strategy, organisation, work, and technology.

Who can apply

Candidates must hold an excellent first degree and demonstrate outstanding performance at the Masters level in a discipline related to their proposed doctoral studies. Applicants must also be highly motivated and submit research proposals that align with the research interests of the relevant department.

What you get

Successful recipients receive a fully funded package spanning three years that includes a generous living allowance and a complete fee waiver. Full-time studentships begin in October 2027 and provide advanced research training courses, supervision by internationally recognised academics, and integration into the broader research community.

An online information session takes place on Wednesday 11 November 2026 from 13:00 to 14:00 GMT, and full-time studentships commence in October 2027.
