China University of Petroleum CSC Scholarship 2026: Fully Funded Master’s and PhD Scholarships in China

Overview

The China University of Petroleum CSC Scholarship offers fully funded postgraduate study opportunities for international students at the master’s and doctoral levels. Hosted at China University of Petroleum in Qingdao, Shandong, China, the programme supports advanced academic training and research in fields such as petroleum engineering, energy, and geological sciences. Programmes are available in both Chinese and English.

Who can apply

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. Master’s degree applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years of age. Doctoral degree applicants must hold a master’s degree and be under 40 years of age. Candidates must also meet the relevant academic and language requirements for their chosen programme of study.

What you get

The scholarship provides a full tuition fee waiver and free on-campus accommodation. Recipients receive an annual living stipend of CNY 36,000 for master’s students or CNY 42,000 for doctoral students. The funding package also includes comprehensive medical insurance valued at CNY 800 per year.

Requirements

Applicants must submit notarised copies of academic certificates and transcripts from undergraduate study onwards, along with notarised translations for documents not in Chinese or English. Required materials include a research proposal or study plan of at least 1,000 words, two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, a graduate supervisor acceptance letter, and a copy of a valid passport. Candidates must also provide a completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form, a valid non-criminal record report, a language proficiency certificate, and any supporting evidence such as publications or awards.

How to apply

The application process requires completing two separate stages. First, candidates must register and submit the online application through the Chinese Government Scholarship system, selecting scholarship category Type B and entering the university agency number 10425. Second, applicants must register for a university applicant account, enter their personal and academic details, and upload all required supporting documents.
