Dalian University of Technology Chinese Government Scholarship 2027 (Fully Funded)

Overview

The Chinese Government Scholarship, through its High Level Postgraduate Program and Silk Road Program, is established by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Dalian University of Technology (DUT) is recruiting international Master's and PhD students under these schemes. Master's study lasts 3 years and PhD study lasts 4 years. Teaching is mainly in Chinese, with some programmes available in English.

What you get

The scholarship exempts tuition and provides free on-campus housing, a monthly allowance and comprehensive medical insurance. The allowance is 3,000 yuan per month for Master's students and 3,500 yuan per month for PhD students. International travel costs are not covered. The scholarship runs for the period set at admission and is generally not extendable. Recipients cannot transfer to another institution, and changes of major or study length are generally not allowed.

Who can apply

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. Master's applicants need a Bachelor's degree and must be under 35. PhD applicants need a Master's degree and must be under 40. Language proficiency must meet the requirements of the chosen programme, with specific levels for Chinese-taught and English-taught options.

Requirements

The application package includes the scholarship application form and the DUT application form, a notarized highest diploma or enrolment certificate, academic transcripts, and a 1,000-word study plan signed by a DUT supervisor. It also requires two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, a physical examination form and blood test report, a passport copy, HSK or TOEFL/IELTS certificates, and a certificate of no criminal conviction. Optional items include a supervisor acceptance letter and an employment certificate.

How to apply

Applicants complete both online forms and then send their materials to the university by email, using a subject line made of the DUT application number and passport name.

Key dates

Applications run from November 1, 2026 to February 15, 2027. Admission notification comes at the end of July 2027, and enrollment is in September 2027.
