Overview

The GREAT Scholarships UK 2027 are supported by the UK Government's GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council. There are 210 scholarships worth a minimum of £10,000 each, for international students from 13 eligible countries who want to take a one-year taught Master's degree at a participating UK university.

The scholarships are open to students from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Partner universities include Edinburgh Napier University, Nottingham Trent University, Robert Gordon University, the Royal Agricultural University, Teesside University, Ulster University, the University of Bath, the University of Derby, the University of Dundee, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Essex, the University of Exeter, Bangor University, the University of Cambridge, the University of Hull, the University of Manchester, the University of Nottingham, the University of South Wales and the University of Warwick.

What you get

Each scholar receives at least £10,000 toward tuition fees at the chosen partner university. Scholars are also invited to a Welcome Seminar in the first semester, which connects them with the British Council, GREAT campaign representatives and fellow scholars, and a Professional Networking Summit in the second semester, which provides access to UK industry leaders and employers across STEM, business, law and the social sciences.

Fields of study

The scholarships cover a broad range of postgraduate fields: STEM, business and management, law and international studies, social sciences and humanities, health sciences, environmental studies and sustainability, and nursing and allied health. The specific programmes available differ by university, so applicants should check each university's scholarship page for eligible Master's programmes.

How to apply

There is no single central application portal. Each partner university manages its own GREAT Scholarship applications, so applicants review the scholarship information, eligible programmes and requirements on the pages of the institutions they are interested in and apply directly through each university's scholarship webpage. Deadlines vary by institution and country, so the correct deadline for the chosen university and nationality should be confirmed early.
