Overview

Save the Children International is recruiting a Senior Officer, Program Operations to support its global Programme Operations and Programme Risk, Delivery and Performance functions. The post is full-time on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a hybrid or remote arrangement and flexible options. It can be based in any approved Save the Children International office location, and the remit is global. Time zone is open, English is the working language, and international travel is exceptional only.

The role provides coordination, project management, performance monitoring, communications and operational support across global teams, working in a matrixed international environment. About 40 percent covers coordinating planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of annual workplans and tracking indicators, milestones and risks. Another 30 percent supports programme risk, delivery and performance reporting. Twenty percent covers learning, knowledge management and capacity strengthening, and the final 10 percent covers communications, engagement and leadership support.

Who can apply

Save the Children wants candidates with experience supporting complex projects, programmes or operational initiatives in an international organization, with strong project management, planning, monitoring and reporting skills. Experience in performance management, risk management, organizational change or continuous improvement is valuable, as is the ability to analyse information and make practical recommendations. Strong Microsoft 365 knowledge is required.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in a field such as international development, business administration, project management, public administration, risk management or social sciences is expected, though equivalent experience may be considered. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or MSP qualifications are desirable, as are Power BI skills and written French, Spanish or Arabic. Applicants must have the right to work in the country where the post is based.

How to apply

Applicants submit a CV and cover letter through the careers platform. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the vacancy may close early. The process generally involves an application review and two competency-based interviews, and sometimes an assessment or case study. Offers are conditional on background checks, and no fee is charged at any stage.
