Overview

The FIVB Volleyball Foundation is looking for a Project Manager for its Global Programmes. The foundation uses the reach of volleyball to connect, serve and inspire communities, and the manager will oversee a portfolio of international development and social-impact projects delivered by local implementing partners. The job is remote and home-based, with a workload of 80 to 100 percent FTE and an initial duration of one year. The post reports to the Executive Manager of the Volleyball Foundation, and the holder must work at least four hours per day between 09:00 and 17:00 CET/CEST. International travel is part of the role.

What the role involves

The manager follows projects from onboarding through implementation, monitoring, evaluation and closure, tracking objectives, milestones, budgets, risks and results, and agreeing corrective actions with partners. They help assess and design new project submissions and strengthen results-based management by setting up results frameworks with outputs, outcomes, indicators, baselines and targets. They also support baseline, midline and endline evaluation and impact assessment, including Social Return on Investment methods. Partner support includes coaching and training on planning, indicators, monitoring, risk management and reporting, with particular attention to smaller and grassroots organisations. The manager reviews partner reports, consolidates portfolio-level reports and dashboards, and carries out project visits.

Who can apply

Candidates need three to five years of relevant experience managing international development, social-impact or community-development projects, including multiple projects or a portfolio and work with grassroots or locally led partners. Experience in project-cycle management, results-based management and monitoring and evaluation is essential, as is experience coaching or training project managers or partners. Applicants must be organised, independent and comfortable in remote, intercultural work. Effective use of AI tools in a professional setting is required. Sport for development experience is desirable.
