Overview

Women Investing for a Sustainable Economy (WISE) is hiring a Community Coordinator to support its global community of women working in sustainable and impact investing. The role is a fully remote, U.S.-based independent contractor (1099) position of about 10 or more hours per week, on an initial six-month contract that may be renewed by mutual agreement. The coordinator sets their own schedule, uses their own equipment and may hold other professional commitments. The start date is immediate. WISE has nine chapters and roughly 20 to 25 chapter leaders, and the coordinator works closely with the WISE Founders and chapter leaders.

What the role involves

The coordinator manages the member experience: onboarding and offboarding members, keeping accurate records and running platforms including MemberSpace, Google Groups, Luma, Mailchimp and Stripe, plus adding member-shared job opportunities to the WISE Jobs Board. They spot operational gaps, develop standard operating procedures and suggest improvements, prepare meeting agendas, track action items, support chapter events, coordinate quarterly chapter leader meetings and help chapters collaborate. On communications, they are the main contact for members, prospective members and chapter leaders, maintain the website and chapter pages, promote global events, answer enquiries, manage LinkedIn and Instagram, produce a weekly global update and a monthly newsletter, and highlight member profiles, chapter achievements and event recaps.

Who can apply

WISE wants someone highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication and project management skills. Knowledge of sustainable and impact investing is preferred, as is familiarity with WISE. Comfort with digital platforms such as Luma, Zoom, Mailchimp, Zapier, MemberSpace, Squarespace and Google Workspace is helpful, and experience with AI productivity tools is highly valued. Applicants must meet U.S. work-location and contracting requirements.

What you get

Compensation is $25 to $40 per hour depending on experience.

How to apply

Applicants email a PDF resume and a brief statement of interest. No application deadline is specified, so early application is encouraged.
