The job has three areas: financial management, which is about 60 percent of the role, general business administration and risk management, and information technology and security. The VPFA develops fiscal strategy, oversees accounting and financial reporting, prepares annual budgets and long-term projections, manages cash, banking and investments, maintains internal controls, oversees audits, tax and regulatory compliance, contracts and insurance, supports the Finance, Investment and Audit committees, supervises finance staff and contractors, and advises senior leaders on complex financial matters. The VPFA also co-directs the Department of Business Administration, oversees technology operations and cybersecurity, and helps build an inclusive, accountable culture.
