The program operates full-time during typical business hours from Monday through Friday.

What you do

In this role, individuals conduct applied machine learning research to address platform and product challenges. Responsibilities include gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data to formulate data-driven machine learning models, as well as writing efficient, maintainable code while participating in testing and code-review procedures. Practitioners apply machine learning methods, such as natural language processing and graph-based techniques, to modeling and ranking tasks across search, discovery, and ads. Additional duties involve designing, building, and testing recommendation and engagement-prediction models that enhance in-app notification, email, and push experiences. Team members develop and refine large-scale applied machine learning systems, utilizing evaluation results to enhance model reliability and performance, and they scope, implement, and deliver solutions for moderately complex machine learning problems while managing risks and tradeoffs.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Statistics, Information Sciences, or a related field. Candidates need prior machine learning experience encompassing ranking, computer vision, natural language processing, content recommendations, embedding, or information retrieval. Requirements also include familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark alongside scalable realtime systems capable of processing stream data. Professionals must demonstrate mastery of at least one systems language like Java, C++, or Python, or an alternative machine learning framework such as Tensorflow, Pytorch, or MLFlow. Furthermore, applicants should have experience in research, analytical problem solving, and applying machine learning or AI concepts via research, coursework, projects, or internships. Additional traits involve cross-functional collaboration, strong communication skills, comfort with solving ambiguous problems, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment while using AI to accelerate analysis and iteration.

What you get

The position includes a salary range with a minimum of $133,600 and a maximum of $153,600. Additionally, the role may be eligible for relocation assistance.
