Overview

Pinterest is offering a Software Engineering internship in Dublin for summer 2027, run by its University Engineering organisation. Interns join engineering teams and work with mentors and with product, design, data and engineering colleagues to learn how large-scale systems operate and to help build new technologies, features and tools.

The work involves completing assigned technical projects with attention to quality, carrying scoped tasks through from start to finish on Pinterest products and infrastructure, and delivering code that is documented, tested and operable. Interns incorporate feedback from their mentor, manager and peers, take part in intern programme events and meet leaders and colleagues across the company. Pinterest also expects familiarity with AI as a learning and coding aid, used responsibly and checked through testing, review and engineering judgment.

Who can apply

Applicants must be enrolled in a programme leading to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, which they will obtain by June 2028. They should understand computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms, and have experience with at least one language such as Python, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript, Go or C++. Technical requirements vary by team. Coding outside coursework, for example hackathons, personal projects, open source or volunteer work, is valued, as is a curious approach to complex problems.

What you get

The base pay is 3,500 to 3,700 euros per month. The position may qualify for relocation assistance.

Key dates

The internship runs full time on weekdays from 10 May 2027 to 27 August 2027. It is based in the Dublin office, with in-person collaboration on two to three weekdays each week, so candidates need to live within commuting distance of Dublin.
