Overview

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is recruiting an Associate Human Resources Officer in Islamabad, Pakistan. The post is a temporary opportunity at the National Professional Officer level (NO-B), listed as Job Opening ID 283321 in the OCHA Executive Office under the Human Resources job family. OCHA is the humanitarian coordination arm of the UN Secretariat and works with governments, UN agencies and NGOs to coordinate principled humanitarian action during disasters and emergencies.

The officer sits in OCHA's Human Resources Section, reports to the Team Lead of the Talent Acquisition, Outreach and Management Unit and works closely with that unit's colleagues based in Istanbul. The aim is to deliver efficient and transparent HR services that follow UN regulations and policies.

Who can apply

Requirements

The officer supports recruitment and talent acquisition, outreach and workforce planning, staff administration and talent management. Further duties include advising on UN HR policies and procedures, preparing HR reports, keeping personnel records accurate, supporting compliance with UN HR rules, coordinating with internal stakeholders and helping apply equitable and transparent recruitment practices. Key competencies include professional HR knowledge, organizational and administrative skills, communication, analytical and problem-solving ability, discretion with confidential information, integrity and teamwork across cultures. Fluency in English is required, and other UN languages may be an asset.
