UNICEF Executive Associate Job 2026: G-6
Overview
UNICEF is recruiting an Executive Associate in Maputo, Mozambique, on a G-6 Temporary Appointment lasting six months, within its Administration category. The post is the principal support to the UNICEF Representative in Mozambique and to the front office. The Executive Associate manages the Representative's agenda and schedule, coordinates the flow of information, organizes meetings and missions, and provides administrative and logistical help for high-level engagements. The role involves working with government partners, donors, UN agencies, civil society and other stakeholders in a complex country-programme setting, and calls for discretion, organization and the ability to handle several priorities at once.
Requirements
Candidates need completed secondary education and at least six years of administrative or executive support experience. A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field can replace three years of experience, and a master's degree or equivalent a further two.
Expected skills include multitasking, excellent writing, editing and communication, integrity and confidentiality, strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiarity with Teams and SharePoint, and the ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive information with maturity and diplomacy. Fluency in English and Portuguese is required. Another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset. Experience with a UN agency or similar organization, and country-level experience in development, fragile or humanitarian settings, are also desirable.
