Overview

UNICEF is recruiting a Business Support Assistant for its Supply Division in Copenhagen, Denmark. The post is a G-5 temporary appointment lasting six months. It provides administrative and operational support across people and culture, financial management, budget management, procurement, events, travel and knowledge management. The vacancy was advertised on 29 September 2026.

What you do

On the people and culture side, the assistant handles access management, onboarding and offboarding, attendance monitoring and contract processing, including service requisitions, contract monitoring and follow-up on evaluations and closures. Financial tasks include processing invoices, updating vendor records, managing prepaid card transactions, answering financial queries and supporting year-end activities.

The role also supports budget reporting and the preparation of Funds Commitments, Funds Reservations and Delegated Funds Reservations, as well as grants management. In procurement, the assistant prepares service and purchase requisitions, purchase orders, service entry sheets and asset records. Event work covers supplier visits, country visits, industry consultations and staff meetings, while travel work covers travel registration, authorizations, security clearances, trip certification and visa applications. Knowledge management involves updating SharePoint pages, libraries and archives and following up on Service Gateway cases.

Requirements

Applicants need completed secondary education, with technical or university courses in the field preferred. A minimum of five years of relevant administrative or clerical experience is required, including customer service, teamwork, contract administration, system management and event coordination. Fluent English is required. Knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish or Danish is an asset, as is experience with SAP, ServiceNow and Excel.
