UNICEF Business Support Assistant G-5 2026: 6-Month Job in Copenhagen with Travel Allowance
Overview
UNICEF is recruiting a Business Support Assistant at G-5 level (Job No. 595983) within its Supply Division in Copenhagen, Denmark. The post is a six-month temporary appointment. UNICEF works in more than 190 countries and territories to promote children's rights, protect children and support their development. This role contributes to the Supply Division's operational work across several business processes.
What you do
People and culture tasks include facilitating access requests, supporting onboarding and offboarding, monitoring attendance and validating absence reports, and processing consultant contracts through service requisitions, service purchase orders and goods receipts. Financial work covers processing invoices, updating vendor records, managing prepaid-card payments, answering financial questions and supporting year-end activities. Budget work covers Funds Commitments, Funds Reservations, Delegated Funds Reservations, grants management and budget reports.
Procurement involves preparing service requisitions, contracts and purchase orders for companies and consultants, as well as purchase requisitions, asset-acquisition requests and asset records for goods. The assistant also supports events such as high-level visits, supplier and country visits, industry consultations and all-staff meetings, and provides travel services including travel registration, authorizations, security clearance, trip certification and visa and UNLP applications. Other duties include taking minutes for statutory committees such as the Contracts Review Committee and Warehouse Oversight Committee, updating SharePoint pages and archiving obsolete files.

Requirements
Applicants need completed secondary education, preferably with related technical or university courses, and at least five years of relevant administrative or clerical experience including customer service, teamwork, contract administration, system management and event coordination. Fluent English is required. Knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish or Danish is an asset, as are SAP, ServiceNow and Excel skills and country-level experience in development, fragile or humanitarian settings.
