Overview
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Panama is hiring a Data Collection and Quality Control Clerk on a full-time basis. The post is classified NPSA-3 under a National Personnel Service Agreement, with a one-year contract that may be extended. It belongs to a project on the integrated management of the Panama Canal watershed as a model for sustainable development, which aims to improve environmental sustainability, strengthen local governance, support sustainable livelihoods and protect water and other natural resources.
The clerk works under the Field and GIS Unit Associate and supports documentation tied to land titling and cadastral processes.

Duties include managing case-file inventories, recording files and tracking their status, organizing and safeguarding documentation, carrying out quality control of cadastral files, entering cadastral information into databases and checking it for accuracy. The clerk also supports the preparation and quality control of cadastral plans, supports land-titling documentation, takes part in public information activities and looks after assigned equipment and facilities. Some duties take place at partner institutions and in areas around the Panama Canal watershed.
Requirements
Candidates qualify with either completed secondary education or a completed bachelor's degree in information technology, geomatics, environmental studies, agricultural sciences, earth sciences, social sciences or a related field. Those with secondary education need at least three years of relevant experience in data collection, office work or administration, while degree holders need no prior experience. Experience with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint, is required. Useful extras include data entry, database and inventory management, cadastral and land-titling processes, geospatial tools and reading cadastral plans.
Fluency in Spanish is required, along with a valid driving licence and the ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles. Candidates must be willing to work in hard-to-reach areas and may be asked to work weekends, public holidays or extended days.
