UK NATO Strategic Communications and Digital Assistant 2026: €4,750.70 Monthly Salary
Overview
The United Kingdom's Joint Delegation to NATO in Brussels is recruiting a Strategic Communications and Digital Assistant at Administrative Officer (AO) level. The delegation links the UK Government with NATO, promotes British interests within the Alliance and keeps UK Ministers and departments informed about discussions there. Its communications team shares UK policy objectives through traditional media, social media and engagement with think tanks, and works to strengthen the UK's strategic communications role as NATO responds to a changing information environment.
The post is full-time and fixed-term, initially for 12 months with the possibility of renewal. The postholder works closely with the Head of Digital, the Spokesperson and senior leadership.
What you get
The monthly salary is EUR 4,750.70. The package also includes a 13th month, luncheon vouchers, a pension scheme, optional hospitalisation insurance, public transport reimbursement and additional annual leave. The working week is 36.25 net hours over five days, Monday to Friday, with occasional early morning, evening or weekend work at peak periods. Learning opportunities come through the UK Government Communications Service, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and NATO, using a 70:20:10 learning model, and the team is encouraged to build skills in AI.
Duties include creating audiovisual content for Instagram, LinkedIn and X, editing digital content, analysing social media metrics, helping manage the UKDel NATO GOV.UK page, supporting communications planning and campaigns, producing daily media monitoring reports, supporting NATO Ministerials and public diplomacy visits, and tracking policy developments and committee meetings.
Requirements
Applicants need C1-level English, professional communications experience creating and editing content for digital platforms, and experience producing quality audiovisual material on a smartphone or digital camera. A degree in communications, journalism or graphic design, experience managing professional social media accounts and familiarity with Canva or Adobe Premiere Pro are desirable. Candidates must hold an independent right to live and work in Belgium for the whole contract, and must pass background checks and security clearance.
