Overview
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is recruiting an Engagement Manager for its Nature for Water Facility (N4W), a flagship initiative within its Resilient Watersheds Strategy. N4W is a technical assistance platform that works with governments, utilities, businesses and local partners to design and carry out watershed investment programmes in Africa, with the aim of supporting more than 50 lighthouse landscapes by 2030 through nature-based solutions. The role is full-time and fully remote, on a two-year term contract that may be extended depending on performance and funding. About 15% domestic and international travel is expected.
The manager works alongside a Science Manager to jointly lead place-based watershed projects in different African landscapes, combining project management, stakeholder engagement, financial modelling and strategic planning.

Requirements
Responsibilities include defining project scope and plans, leading multidisciplinary teams, managing timelines and deliverables, engaging governments, communities and strategic stakeholders, developing financial and economic appraisals and investment cases, assessing ecosystem service benefits and costs, supporting governance and funding strategies, presenting to clients and conferences, contributing to thought leadership and mentoring staff.
Applicants need a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, political science, international development or a related field with at least six years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination. They must show experience leading complex projects, strong financial modelling and business evaluation skills, supervisory experience and excellent English. Preferred are seven or more years in project finance, capital markets or consulting, a graduate degree in business, environmental economics, engineering or environmental management, nature-based solutions experience, knowledge of watershed conservation and water security, Swahili, French or Portuguese, and experience in multicultural remote teams.
