Overview
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is seeking a Writer/Editor to support its New York Division in a temporary, part-time, remote role. The assignment runs for six weeks at 21 hours per week. The writer develops and manages written materials tied to existing grants and institutional funding, working with development, conservation, programme and finance teams to prepare grant proposals and reports. The role involves turning complex technical or programme information into clear, persuasive content for funders and other audiences.
What the role involves
Responsibilities include leading several grant-writing and reporting projects at once, writing compelling proposals and reports, editing and proofreading communications for specific audiences, managing assigned initiatives and acting as project lead when needed. The Writer/Editor also maintains grant records, monitors submission deadlines, ensures requirements and compliance standards are met, helps identify funding opportunities, supports relationships with existing funders, coordinates information across departments and tracks project goals and deliverables.
Requirements
Candidates need a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least seven years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination. They should have experience developing communications tools at organisational or company-wide level, including branding, strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, and experience presenting to audiences such as senior executives, donors, board members and the public. Managing several complex projects at once is important. Multilingual and multicultural experience, experience developing and measuring communications or engagement strategies, strong interpersonal and presentation skills, familiarity with communications tools and the ability to interpret data are desirable.

For candidates employed in the United States, stated compensation is $2,395.04 biweekly, which may vary by location, qualifications, experience and skills. Employees elsewhere may be subject to a local-market pay range.
