Senior Software Engineer (AI/Data)
Overview
Codat is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for an AI and data role. The position involves building the Advisory Intelligence Platform, which delivers client intelligence inside an AI assistant used by bankers, with Microsoft Copilot integrated first. The work focuses on developing the data and reasoning systems that underpin the platform, including semantic layers, signal detection, and LLM reasoning layers.
Requirements
Applicants should have experience building production systems from scratch by writing code rather than configuring managed services. Candidates must have practical experience serving data to an LLM and understanding its limitations. The role requires solid programming skills in C, Python, or another backend language, accompanied by writing tested code.
Individuals need depth in at least one technology among SQL, Spark, Databricks or Delta Lake, Dagster, Airflow, Temporal, or dbt. Familiarity with CI, CD, Docker, cloud infrastructure on Azure, and observability is expected. Candidates should also have an interest in the business applications behind data and building appropriate guardrails for models.
What you get
The position offers a salary ranging from 90,000 to 110,000 GBP per year, along with offered equity. Visa sponsorship may be available for suitable candidates.
How you work
The work mode is remote or hybrid, with no return-to-office mandate. Engineers own what they build from start to finish and operate within a small team where things move quickly.
