Product Engineer
Overview
Evervault is hiring a Senior or Staff Product Engineer for the Cards team based in London. The role involves working on modular payments infrastructure, including tokenisation, card network integrations, 3DS, and dispute management. Responsibilities span end-to-end problem solving, from direct customer conversations and API design to writing production code and tracking outcomes. The position requires working from the Shoreditch office from Tuesday to Thursday.
Requirements
Applicants need at least six years of engineering experience, with two to four recent years focused on payments infrastructure, fintech, developer tooling, or design-first products. Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, networking, and infrastructure are necessary, along with a product-minded approach focused on developer experience and user impact. Candidates must be comfortable communicating complex technical decisions to non-technical audiences, working directly with customers, and demonstrating founder-like ownership to take problems to completion independently. Experience with Rust and TypeScript, as well as knowledge of card payments including networks, tokenisation, 3DS, or PCI DSS, is considered helpful. Candidates must already be based in the specified location.
What you get
The position offers a competitive, London-weighted salary alongside stock options featuring an extended exercise window. Additional benefits include private health insurance, unlimited paid time off, flexible working hours, and a daily lunch budget. Team members also gain senior technical influence within a growing team processing millions of card transactions.
