Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Everquote is seeking a full-time, permanent Software Engineer to join its insurance lead amplification platform based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The role involves designing and delivering the main public-facing platform and supporting tools that connect home and auto insurance customers to providers in an Agile, data-led environment.

What You'll Be Doing

The position involves architecting high-impact features for the insurance marketplace and internal toolsets while driving UX innovation and advanced AI patterns such as Retrieval Augmented Generation and Model Context Protocol. Responsibilities include mentoring junior engineers, championing an agentic workflow philosophy across the development lifecycle using Anthropic Claude, utilizing analytics data aggregation for continuous improvement, and engaging with cross-functional stakeholders like Product Managers and the Architecture team.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a third-level degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with at least two years of professional programming experience including background at a software product company. Essential technical competencies include hands-on back-end experience, proficiency in Typescript, experience supporting cloud platforms at scale on AWS, working with infrastructure as code, and utilizing continuous integration and deployment tools. Desirable qualifications include a security-first approach, container-based solutions such as Docker and Kubernetes, UI development experience with React, serverless architectures, and observability platforms.
