Overview

Outright International is seeking a Senior Program Manager for Global Rights and Grantmaking. Outright is a global human rights organisation, founded in 1990, working to help LGBTIQ+ people live safer, healthier and more empowered lives through documentation, movement support, grantmaking and advocacy. The job is full time and fully remote, open to candidates in any country, with no need to relocate to the New York office. The manager reports to the Senior Director of Global Programs and Grantmaking and oversees a large multi-country program, linking leadership, regional staff and in-country partners while keeping implementation locally owned, demand-driven and donor-compliant. Salary is not specified.

Duties include coordinating implementation across regional teams, supporting inception and finalising the Theory of Change, MEL plan and capacity-strengthening plans, managing partner relationships, supporting partner selection and risk assessment, supporting flexible financing such as emergency, programmatic and organisational development grants, coordinating participatory monitoring, evaluation and learning, tracking risks, monitoring political, security and civic-space developments, upholding safeguarding standards, supporting partners at regional and multilateral human rights mechanisms, and handling donor reporting, disbursements, compliance checks and sanctions screening.

Requirements

Candidates need significant experience managing complex multi-country grants in human rights, LGBTIQ+ rights or international development, and with civil society partners in restrictive, high-risk or conflict-affected contexts. Understanding of grantmaking, localisation, partner-led design, donor compliance, MEL frameworks such as outcome mapping, SOGIESC dynamics and intersectional analysis is expected. English and Spanish are mandatory, and other regional languages are an advantage. Travel to program regions is expected when security conditions allow.

How to apply

Applications go through the organisation's online careers portal, highlighting international grant management, civil society partnerships, localisation and work in complex environments.
