Research Catalyst Fellow
Overview
The University of Surrey is seeking two postdoctoral researchers to join its research community as Research Catalyst Fellows within the SBS Central Admin department. These newly created positions offer an opportunity to build a research profile while developing impactful research across the school, combining academic research with research development and collaboration. Fellows will work to connect academic expertise, external partnerships, and funding opportunities to support ambitious research programmes that address major business and societal challenges. Up to 20% of the workload is protected for independent research to allow fellows to develop publications and pursue academic interests.
Who can apply
Applicants must hold a PhD in a business, management, or related discipline, or have it near completion by the start date. Candidates need a developing research profile with evidence of high-quality publications or a strong publication pipeline, alongside strong quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed-methods research skills. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to develop innovative research ideas, robust study designs, and compelling funding proposals, paired with communication, relationship-building, and project coordination skills and a commitment to research integrity, collaboration, and inclusive research culture.
What you get
This is a full-time, permanent position, though the listing notes the roles are fixed-term contracts of up to October 2028. The salary ranges from £38,448 to £46,970 per annum. Fellows receive protected time amounting to up to 20% of their workload for their own independent research, publications, and academic interests.
