Overview
Restless Development Uganda is recruiting a Programme Coordinator for Organisational Development and Advocacy, based in Kampala. The organisation supports youth-led change, and its programmes operate in regions including Karamoja, West Nile, Eastern, Western and Central Uganda. Its youth employment portfolio aims to improve young people's economic resilience through dignified employment, entrepreneurship and inclusive financial services. The coordinator leads organisational development and advocacy work in the youth employment and market systems portfolio, reports to the Programme Manager for Youth Employment and Market Systems, and manages a Programme Officer. Regular domestic and international travel may be needed.

The contract is fixed-term for two years, expected to start in October 2026, with a gross salary of UGX 73,299,474 per year on the organisation's global salary scale. The appointment depends on programme funding.
Requirements
The coordinator develops and runs capacity-strengthening for youth-led organisations through assessments, training, coaching, mentoring and peer learning, supports governance, leadership, financial management, safeguarding, monitoring and sustainability, coordinates youth-led advocacy on employment, entrepreneurship and economic inclusion, and helps partners use evidence to influence policy. They build relationships with government, the private sector and civil society, represent the organisation in forums, document results and lessons, support monitoring, evaluation and learning, prepare technical and donor reports, manage budgets and promote safeguarding and inclusion.
Who can apply
Applicants need a bachelor's degree in development studies, social sciences, organisational development, public administration, community development, political science or a related field, plus at least three years of experience coordinating organisational development, capacity strengthening, governance or advocacy programmes in Uganda's development sector. They should have worked with youth-led, community-based or civil society organisations, understand safeguarding, gender equality and inclusion, use Microsoft Office and reporting tools, and write and speak excellent English. Donor-funded and consortium experience, youth livelihoods knowledge and a postgraduate qualification are advantages.
