Principal Application Engineer

Overview

The Application Modernization Platform helps enterprise customers transition legacy relational applications to a modern architecture utilizing MongoDB, software, processes, and engineers. The team uses GenAI and algorithmic tooling to speed up delivery times. This position involves working as a software developer in an Agile environment to migrate legacy Java applications to cloud-based architectures running on MongoDB. The role is based remotely in France.

Requirements

Applicants need professional fluency in French and a bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Typically, candidates should have eight or more years of progressive experience designing, building, and delivering Java applications, along with significant experience leading complex modernization initiatives. Essential skills include an expert understanding of Java fundamentals, deep production experience with Spring Boot, strong background in relational databases and SQL, and a proven history of delivering modern applications using Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and reliability practices.
