Overview

Queen Mary University of London is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate within the Barts Cancer Institute, located in the United Kingdom. This position focuses on a Cancer Research UK-funded research programme that examines epithelial cell heterogeneity during the initiation of pancreatic cancer and studies how these cells interact with their microenvironment.

The appointed researcher will use cutting-edge single-cell and spatial transcriptomics approaches in both human and mouse tissues to characterise epithelial diversity. These findings will be validated using complementary methodologies such as mouse models, confocal microscopy, spatial proteomics, and 3D organoid co-culture systems. The primary goal of the project is to enhance the understanding of early events in pancreatic cancer development to inform better strategies for diagnosis and intervention.

Requirements

The successful candidate will carry out research investigations alongside and under the supervision of Dr Beatriz Salvador to achieve the goals and development of the research programme.

What you get

The position offers a salary of £39,187 to £47,550 per annum on a full-time, fixed-term contract basis. Additional benefits include a generous pension scheme, 30 days of annual leave per annum on a pro-rata basis, a season ticket loan scheme, and access to personal and professional development opportunities.
