People in Need Hiring Remote Market Systems Development Advisor | Drive Climate-Resilient Economic Growth Programmes | Apply by 31 August 2026
Overview
People in Need (PIN), a Czech-based international NGO founded in 1992 and working in more than 20 countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, is hiring a Market Systems Development Advisor on a one-year contract. The position is remote and open to professionals worldwide, with a preferred headquarters location in Prague, Czech Republic. The advisor joins the Climate Resilience Team in PIN's Program, Strategy and Impact Unit and gives technical leadership on market-based approaches that improve livelihoods, employment, access to services and business growth for vulnerable communities.
What the role involves
The advisor helps country programmes move from traditional livelihoods work toward commercially viable, climate-resilient and investment-ready market systems. Tasks include improving programme design and implementation, supporting monitoring, evaluation and learning, strengthening donor engagement, and developing knowledge resources. The advisor also builds partnerships with private companies, financial institutions, investors, cooperatives, service providers, governments and development partners, and supports financial inclusion for smallholder farmers, micro, small and medium enterprises, informal businesses, women-led enterprises and young entrepreneurs. The role contributes to designing large donor-funded programmes, such as those funded by the European Commission and the Green Climate Fund, covering investment mobilisation, blended finance, co-investment, smart subsidies and risk-sharing, as well as climate-resilient livelihoods, green growth, climate finance and carbon credit opportunities. Mentoring, training, webinars and guidance materials build internal expertise.
Requirements
PIN seeks significant experience in market systems development, private sector development or inclusive growth programmes, including designing and running such programmes in low- and middle-income countries, private sector engagement in fragile or crisis-affected settings, work with businesses, investors and financial institutions, knowledge of blended finance, financial inclusion design, and an understanding of climate resilience and green growth. Strong analysis, writing, partnership-building and cross-cultural skills are expected.
What you get
Benefits include flexible hours and remote work options, 25 days of annual holiday, 3 sick days, 3 study leave days, psychological consultations, induction training, e-learning, the PIN Learning Hub, Hostile Environment Awareness Training, and travel support covering expenses, visas, vaccinations, health insurance and daily allowances.
