Overview
Panthera, an organization dedicated exclusively to conserving the world's 40 wild cat species and their ecosystems, is recruiting a Regional Human Resources Manager for the Americas. The home-based post supports teams across North, Central and South America. Panthera works through research, conservation strategies, partnerships and field programmes with NGOs, scientific institutions, governments and local communities.
What you will do
The manager acts as a strategic HR partner to directors and regional teams, supporting employee relations, coaching, conflict resolution and performance management, and promoting an inclusive workplace. Duties cover engagement, wellbeing, retention and development, onboarding and offboarding, HR systems and data integrity, policies and handbooks, recruitment and workforce planning, learning and development, benefits and payroll, compensation and multi-country benefits, grant-funded staffing and donor compliance. They also ensure compliance with employment law in the United States, Latin America, Canada and other jurisdictions, link headquarters with regional teams and support change management. About 10 percent travel is expected.
Requirements
Applicants need a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field, with a master's preferred, and generally five to eight or more years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a nonprofit, NGO, conservation or mission-driven setting. Experience with multi-country teams in the Americas and knowledge of employment practices in the United States and Latin America are important. Professional communication in both English and Spanish is required. A SHRM or similar certification, experience with field-based or remote teams, and conservation or development experience are advantages. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Costa Rica.
