Notify Health Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer: Remote Opportunity in Nigeria | Salary Up to USD 550 | Apply by 18 October 2026
Overview
Notify Health is recruiting a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer to support its work improving childhood immunisation coverage in Nigeria. The job is full-time and remote, with Abuja preferred, and pays NGN 500,000 to NGN 730,000 per month (about USD 370 to USD 550) depending on location and experience.
Notify Health is a start-up nonprofit that uses SMS and automated voice calls in more than 10 Nigerian languages to remind caregivers about vaccination appointments. It has sent reminders for more than 50,000 children in three states and aims to reach 10 or more states.
What the role involves
About 60% of the work is running the MEL system: reviewing data from health workers and programme staff, giving feedback to field teams, auditing implementation, preparing reports and supporting evaluation through data cleaning and analysis. Another 20% is digitisation: reviewing photographs of health records, deciding which are suitable for entry, overseeing data entry staff, checking entries and writing feedback reports. The last 20% covers process improvement, training and learning, including travelling to some training sessions, teaching SurveyCTO and data entry, sharing lessons in meetings and introducing automation and better templates.
Requirements
Applicants need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in fields such as public health, epidemiology, statistics, social sciences, natural sciences, development economics, computer science or business administration, plus at least three years of hands-on MEL, programme analytics or data experience, preferably in health or development. Strong spreadsheet skills, especially in Google Sheets, attention to detail, good written and spoken English and fluency in Nigerian Pidgin are required, as are reliable internet and a computer. Experience with SurveyCTO, ODK or KoboToolbox, training others, languages such as Ebira, Tiv or Fulfulde, Nigerian health system experience, and SQL, Google Data Studio or Apps Script are advantages.
What you get
Benefits include flexible hours and location, significant autonomy, financial support for a remote workspace, a developmental budget, competitive annual leave and competitive maternity leave after one year. The initial contract is 12 months, renewable, with a six-month probation and up to 10% travel.

Applicants use the online form. The first stage takes about 45 to 60 minutes and includes a short 10-minute quiz; no cover letter is needed. Later stages may include test tasks and interviews. Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
