MSF SPARC Safeguarding Implementation Lead: A Global Opportunity to Strengthen Safeguarding(2026)
Overview
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is hiring a SPARC Safeguarding Implementation Lead, a permanent, full-time hybrid position that can be based in an MSF office. The successful candidate is generally offered a contract through the MSF office in their country of residence at the time of application. The start date is as soon as possible.
Safeguarding is a major priority for MSF, which is committed to safe, respectful and dignified environments for patients, caretakers, communities, volunteers and staff. The Lead contributes to a six-year plan to embed safeguarding consistently across MSF offices and country programmes, driving the implementation, operationalisation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the SPARC ambitions.
What you will do
The role turns strategies, policies and standards into measurable implementation plans with deliverables, milestones and accountability mechanisms. Tasks include coordinating SPARC initiatives, building plans, tools, frameworks and templates, monitoring progress, strengthening accountability and ownership, integrating safeguarding into operational planning, management systems and workforce processes, producing reports, dashboards, briefing papers and governance updates, and supporting learning, reviews and evaluations. The Lead also identifies risks and gaps, recommends corrective action, analyses trends and lessons and helps make safeguarding part of organizational culture.
Requirements
Applicants need a master's degree in a relevant field such as international law or human rights, or a bachelor's degree with significant safeguarding experience, plus at least three years of experience implementing safeguarding in operational or country programme settings. MSF experience is an asset. Candidates should know safeguarding risks well, convert strategy into action, coordinate stakeholders, write and communicate well, understand monitoring and evaluation, lead complex initiatives and handle sensitive issues with discretion and diplomacy. English is required and French is an asset.
