Overview

Affirm is hiring a Manager for Machine Learning Engineering within its International Credit Machine Learning group. The person in this role will manage a team of machine learning engineers responsible for building the models that power credit lending decisions across Europe and Australia. Responsibilities include shaping technical strategy, defining solutions, collaborating across product development teams, and mentoring engineering talent.

Who can apply

Candidates must hold a Bachelor degree in a technical field and bring at least 8 years of industry experience, which includes a minimum of 3 years of managing engineers. Applicants need a background in financial services, specifically focusing on credit and lending. Proficiency in machine learning is required, along with experience in deep learning, tree-based models, transformers, and agentic machine learning. Strong engineering skills, the capability to offer hands-on technical leadership, and comfort working within ambiguous environments are also necessary.

What you get

The position offers a base pay range of 142000 to 190000 GBP per year.
