Junior Sourcing Specialist
Overview
HelloFresh is recruiting junior procurement talent for its European Strategic Sourcing Team, the group that buys the ingredients and products used in the company's meals across many markets. Several junior positions are open within Procurement, each with a different focus, and candidates do not have to choose one in advance. During the selection process the team talks through strengths and interests and decides together where each person fits best. The role is based in Paris or Berlin.
Whoever joins learns how international procurement works from start to finish and helps keep product quality high and costs sensible for customers every week.
What the job involves
The work centres on supporting procurement strategies and plans across European markets alongside experienced colleagues. Day to day this means analysing supplier offers, cost data and market prices to build cost models and find savings, and tracking market trends and supply risks with the help of data and generative AI tools for pricing forecasts. Over time the junior hire identifies and assesses suppliers, prepares negotiations and takes ownership of selected suppliers. Collaboration with product, culinary, food safety and quality, and operations teams helps new products reach customers on time, and cross-functional projects keep local and global stakeholders informed.
Requirements
Applicants should hold a bachelor's or master's degree, for example in business, supply chain, engineering or food science, and have up to two years of experience in procurement, supply chain or a related field. Food industry exposure is a plus. Strong analytical skills and comfort with data in Excel or Google Sheets are expected, along with clear communication, a proactive and organised approach and excellent English. Another European language and willingness to travel occasionally within Europe are advantages.
Visa or work permit sponsorship is not available for junior positions, so candidates must already have the legal right to work in their preferred location.
