Overview

HelloFresh is hiring a Junior Category Manager in Berlin to join its European Strategic Sourcing Team, which buys the ingredients and products behind the company's meals across multiple markets. The team is growing and has several junior procurement roles open, each with its own focus. Candidates do not need to pick a position up front, because strengths and interests are discussed during the process to find the best fit.

The role offers a view of international procurement from start to finish and contributes to delivering high-quality products at the right cost every week.

What the job involves

The junior hire supports procurement strategies and plans across European markets, working closely with experienced colleagues. Tasks include analysing supplier offers, cost data and market prices to build cost models and identify savings, and monitoring market trends and supply risks, using data and generative AI tools to support pricing forecasts and decisions. As experience grows, the person identifies and assesses suppliers, prepares negotiations and takes ownership of selected suppliers. Work with product, culinary, food safety and quality, and operations teams helps bring new products to customers on schedule, and involvement in cross-functional projects includes keeping local and global stakeholders updated.

Requirements

A bachelor's or master's degree is expected, for example in business, supply chain, engineering or food science, together with up to two years of experience in procurement, supply chain or a related area. Experience in the food industry is a plus. The team looks for strong analytical skills, confidence with data in Excel or Google Sheets, clear communication across teams, countries and functions, and a proactive, organised mindset. Excellent English is needed; another European language and a willingness to travel occasionally within Europe are helpful.

Visa or work permit sponsorship is not offered for junior positions, so applicants must already have the legal right to work in Berlin.

What you get

Benefits vary by country and include discounts on HelloFresh and partner brands, internal training and mentoring, a hybrid working setup, an onboarding programme with a dedicated manager, discounted fitness memberships, access to mental health and mindfulness apps, a company pension scheme, commuting support depending on location, and team events.

How to apply

The company aims to review profiles and reply within five business days.
