International Vaccine Institute Opens Project Manager Pipeline Position in Seoul, South Korea – Apply by 30 September 2026
Overview
The International Vaccine Institute (IVI), an international nonprofit organization that works to discover, develop and deliver vaccines for vulnerable populations, has opened a pipeline vacancy for a Project Manager in its Program Management Department in Seoul, South Korea. A pipeline vacancy means applications are reviewed and shortlisted in preparation for expected future hiring, and final decisions follow IVI's internal approval. The contract on appointment is a two-year regular position that can be renewed.
The Project Manager coordinates vaccine and global health projects of moderate complexity involving research institutions, academic partners, governments, consultants, donors and international organizations, making sure they are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.
Requirements
The work includes managing timelines, budgets, quality and deliverables, monitoring progress and deviations, developing corrective actions, preparing status reports for senior management, supporting improvement of project management methods, and helping prepare agreements such as memoranda of understanding, research agreements, service agreements and consultancy contracts. A large part of the role is financial oversight, which means aligning plans with approved budgets, monitoring spending against forecasts, analysing variances, coordinating periodic reports with finance teams and supporting change requests and budget revisions. The manager also serves as a communication focal point between project teams and external partners.
Applicants need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least eight years of professional experience, including about three years managing multiple projects at once. Ideal candidates have worked in research, academic, medical or international health institutions and can coordinate grant-funded programmes. Skills sought are proven multi-project management, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project, forecasting, budgeting and financial monitoring, planning, reporting, stakeholder engagement and a commitment to continuous learning. Experience with research grants in academic or medical settings is an advantage, and a PMP certification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory. Fluent English is required and Korean is desirable.
