Overview

The International Journal on Media Management (IJMM) is looking for a Social Media Editor to strengthen the journal's digital presence, raise the visibility of its research and build connections with researchers, professionals and wider audiences. The role is remote and international, with an editorial appointment starting in September 2026, and the editor may join the journal's Editorial Board.

What you get

The annual honorarium is US$1,500. The editor also receives free access to 100 research articles on Taylor & Francis Online, a 30 percent discount on Routledge books, access to Taylor & Francis editorial resources and training, and recognition on the journal's Editorial Board page.

What the role involves

The editor creates and manages content across several platforms to promote IJMM research, writes posts on newly published articles and developments in media management, and turns academic findings into accessible material for researchers, students and professionals. The editor builds online communities by engaging researchers, universities, institutions and industry professionals, works with the Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board and publisher, and monitors digital trends, analytics and engagement data to improve outreach.

Who can apply

Applicants should currently be pursuing or hold a doctoral degree in media, communications or a related field, understand academic publishing and care about promoting quality scholarship. They should have experience with social media and know how styles differ between platforms, be able to create engaging content and digital strategies, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

How to apply

Applicants combine everything into one PDF containing a brief CV, three social media samples suited to platforms such as X/Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, and a cover letter covering how they meet the requirements, their vision for the journal's social media and their strategy for increasing awareness of research. Applications go through the Taylor & Francis recruitment page.

The application deadline is 08 September 2026.
