It has about 250 employees in nearly two dozen countries and works in education, health, agriculture, governance, sanitation, financial inclusion and social development. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with no fixed start date.
What the role involves
Associates and Senior Associates are early-career professionals who take on research, data collection, analysis, client engagement, project coordination and communication. Work may range from front-line data collection in rural communities to statistical analysis and discussions with senior government officials. They manage project workflows, support research design, coordinate data collection and write policy briefs, memos, reports and presentations. Fieldwork can include overseeing data collection teams and travelling to remote sites.
Who can apply
Candidates should have some exposure to econometrics, quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis and data visualisation, gained at work or through coursework. Backgrounds vary widely, from economics and data science to political science, public policy, engineering, environmental science and literature. Strong writing is important, and experience with Stata, SPSS, R, SurveyCTO and Open Data Kit is preferred. Local language skills and knowledge of the placement country help.
What you get
IDinsight prefers candidates based in Lusaka, Nairobi, Dakar, Rabat, Delhi or Manila, and others generally relocate when employment starts. It states it can sponsor employment visas for all nationalities in these locations, with preference for those already authorised to work there. Staff receive mentorship, professional development plans, regular feedback and an annual development stipend. Benefits can include international health insurance, mental health coverage, paid vacation, sick and parental leave, relocation benefits, a travel stipend and technology and work-from-home support. A minimum two-year commitment is expected.
