HelpAge International Trusts and Foundations Seeks a Fundraising Manager Consultant 2026
Overview
HelpAge International is seeking a Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Manager on a consultancy basis to expand philanthropic income from trusts, foundations and other funding sources in the United States. The consultant will strengthen the organisation's prospecting and fundraising pipeline by identifying potential partners, assessing opportunities, carrying out targeted outreach and gathering intelligence for later donor cultivation. The work builds on an existing prospect-mapping exercise.
What you will do
Tasks include reviewing and qualifying prospective US trusts and foundations, researching their priorities, giving patterns, geographic interests and themes, and matching them to HelpAge's strategic priorities. The consultant carries out donor outreach, gauges market interest, builds and maintains pipeline management systems and supplies fundraising intelligence. They will also test funding intelligence platforms using available free trials, assess how useful they are and recommend tools and approaches to improve HelpAge's fundraising strategy.
Who can apply
The consultancy suits an experienced fundraising, business development, prospect research or philanthropy professional who knows the United States funding landscape. Required strengths are prospect research, donor identification and qualification, pipeline management, writing, interpersonal skills, analysis, awareness of philanthropic trends and the ability to manage deliverables independently. Experience with international development or humanitarian organisations is an advantage, as is knowledge of sectors such as ageing and older people's rights, health systems, social protection, humanitarian response and global health. Established relationships with relevant trusts and foundations would strengthen an application.
How to apply
Candidates submit a cover letter, an up-to-date CV and a financial proposal stating a daily consultancy rate, by email. HelpAge reviews expressions of interest on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged.
