Overview

HelpAge International is looking for a Head of Network Development to provide strategic leadership for its global network of more than 200 organisations across 99 countries. The network works to improve the rights, dignity and wellbeing of older people. The post leads delivery of the network strategy and works across regions to strengthen member engagement, collaboration, learning and organisational resilience, with a particular focus on localisation and locally led action.

What you will do

The postholder strengthens engagement with network members and partnerships across regions, encourages sharing of knowledge, experience and resources, supports country transitions and localisation, builds strategic partnerships and helps members strengthen their capacity and find opportunities for collaboration and resource mobilisation. The aim is to put local organisations and communities at the centre of decision-making.

Requirements

HelpAge seeks substantial experience leading membership networks, alliances or partnership portfolios, in international development, humanitarian or civil society settings, with strong strategic leadership skills. Candidates should have experience advancing localisation and partner-led approaches, a proven record working with civil society organisations and networks, especially in Global South contexts, and experience in income generation, donor relationship management and resource mobilisation. Experience leading diverse international teams is expected. Knowledge of ageing, inclusion and rights issues is an advantage. Spanish, French and Arabic are desirable. Applicants must have the right to work and live in the identified location.

What you get

The vacancy does not specify a salary and does not confirm that the post is fully remote, so applicants should read the full job description for location and employment conditions.

Applications are submitted by email with a CV and cover letter. Full details are on the organisation's vacancy page.
